Week #1 (3) Peer Response’s to Lili M, Ella M & Therese T

Response to Lili’s Blog 1 Post:

Hi Lili!
What an insightful blog post for this week. This is really well written. I got a good idea on who you are and thought you effectively portrayed your relation and feelings on this week’s topics especially related to your work with EDSA. I thought it was a really nice addition to add the list with steps that you could take in creating a positive online presence as I feel that these could apply to anyone and are even just nice to acknowledge for those who maybe haven’t considered some less talked about ideas including profile pictures or conversations with friends on what you may or may not want posted publicly on their accounts. I feel like it could’ve been beneficial to delve into a bit deeper what drawbacks or effects not doing these things could have or how students looking you up could actually impact you and your career if you were not being this digitally cautious. You touch on this but a stronger representation, examples, or supported evidence might help strengthen this area and overall points being made. I enjoyed how you separated each section with the three dots. I thought it had a nice flow and clear organization. This is more personal but I enjoy photos to guide the reader through different topics and support organization as well so this might be a future consideration. I worry that you may be missing some referencing or inclusions from this week’s resources and think integrating these would help support your post and bring it to the next level. Overall really well done, I really enjoyed reading your blog this week.

Hi Ella!
I really enjoyed reading your blog post for this week and getting to know you a little! Congrats on your final year, that’s so exciting, even if going into PDPP afterwards! I enjoyed your integration of Unsplash images correlating with the different topics as well as featuring a video at the end. I thought this was a great approach to setting up and organizing the blog as it provided a nice visual that kept me intrigued and made the information flow nicely while reading as the headings underneath each guided me as well.
I wonder if integrating a chart or list could help strengthen the posts information by formatting it in a different way. This could just allow the information to be even more visually pleasing and easier to digest. I really liked that you had so many personal experiences and features throughout, as this made me feel like I could get a better idea of your stance on the topics. I just worry that you don’t have any direct referencing to the resources from this week for example a quote or paraphrase. I feel that if you added some to support your points and stance, this makes a strong write up with smooth evidence. Overall really well done first blog, I thought the embedded links were very helpful and can’t wait to read more.

Response to Therese’s Blog 1 Post:

Hi Therese! I thought reading your first blog was really intriguing and insightful. You write with such a strong academic approach. Your perspectives and reasoning are very clear and easy to follow. I thought your paraphrasing integration was nice as well to tie information back to this week’s resources. However I wonder if you could’ve added a few more or some quotes to support your well written points and add that extra level of support. I found it really helpful that you had headings for each topic you talked about, this helped give your blog an organized and easy to follow look. It was to me personally a lot of information to read all at once. I wonder if you might consider showcasing this information in different ways like integrating a chart, list or mind map for example, just to lay things out in different visual ways. I enjoyed that you included your personal experience with the Alzheimer project, research and class connections as an example for how social media has impacted your educational practices. I thought this helped make the blog more personal and was a great example that I could relate to with similar projects. I thought adding an embedded link to the YouTube video you mention, “How to Apply What You Learn” could’ve been nice as I’d love to check it out. Overall really well done first blog and strong writing throughout!
